More about me

I was born in Alicante (Spain) and there I studied for my Master's degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical and Mining Engineering specialty.

Throughout my studies in Geological Engineering I attended a number of field trips where I was able to gain much practical experience, recognizing geological sites; practicing surveying; mapping large areas of mountain; analyzing structural geology, mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, hydrogeology, seismology ... and applying knowledge of geotechnical engineering solutions to various soil mechanics, rock mechanics, mining techniques and civil engineering.

I visited mines and quarries throughout Spain accompanied and advised by experienced engineers.

In 2008 I received a scholarship to study in Italy for a year, and decided the best place to go would be Catania (Sicily), because the most active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna, was only a few kilometres away. This was a terrain I could not experience in Alicante.

In 2010 I obtained another scholarship to do my final year at the University of Oviedo (North Spain) in order to gain knowledge in mining and underground engineering. The campus was in Mieres, a place where there is a long mining tradition.

With the many techniques I learnt in Oviedo I could do my thesis on the Construction of an outfall with microtunnel for the disposal of brine from a desalination plant, leading to a Distinction grade for this Project.

I traveled to many countries in order to gain a closer look at the culture and learn about  geological differences in each location.

Once I finished my Master´s degree in Geological Engineering, I lived and worked in England in order to improve my proficiency with the English language.

I relocated to Calgary, Alberta (Canada) in 2012, after my application for a work visa was approved. Within one week I secured a position with Enviro Tech Surveys as a Seismic Surveyor across Alberta and Saskatchewan for the Oil and Gas industry.

After 8 months working as a Seismic Surveyor with some of the largest Oil and Gas companies as clients, Enviro Tech Surveys gave me the opportunity to work as a GIS Technician in the Calgary office. This experience allowed me to work and learn all the tasks involved in the Geophysical Exploration Industry.

I worked as a Plan Checker and Project Coordinator with WSP Canada in the Department of Pipeline and Integrity Projects for the Oil and Gas industry, I was succesful at supervising and coordinating multiple underground pipeline projects across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.

I am currently working as a Project Manager with Midwest Surveys.

Geotechnical Engineering is my passion and I continually update my skills through various current safety, geotechnical and mining software courses.
